  • 7/6/2022 Double Blind Night at Kevin's: [Tasted double blind]
Med+/Pronounced intensity, ripe sweet stone fruits, honey, dried apricots, apricot peel, tropical fruits, melon, pineapple, hay, straw. Med/Med+ body, med acid, sweet, long finish. I thought it was Tokaji. Aged fairly well, only missing a fresher cut of acidity, but still showing great honeyed and dried fruits. At its peak, this should not improve from here on, but shouldn't go down either for a while. 90-91 pts

  • Nose is very expressive, dried yellow honey suckle blossoms, fresh cut yellow peach, bees wax, green melon, lift, slate, and hints of botrytis funk. Color seems advanced for its age. Good concentration with balancing acidity, minerality, fresh apricot and lime citrus dominate the palate, flashes of breadfruit and sappy red apple. Flavor profile doesn’t deliver all the complexities of the nose. Enjoyed at 45-50 with pan fried fluke. Purchased from distributor as direct import and stored accordingly. Drink over the next 10 years. Na zdrowie

  • Color yellow/light golden, nose of spicy botrytis, with a freshness of white flowers, hint of white honey. Botrytis has a deeper edge to it. On the palate very clean flavor profile, botrytis jumps out with apple sap, hints of lime pith, minerals and sage. Lots of life and freshness, no notice of petrol or bees wax. Wine fleshed out on day two and is just approaching drinking window. Enjoyed at 45-50 with aged Gouda. Purchased from distributor as direct import and stored accordingly. Drink now – 15 years… Na zdrowie

  • Still incredibly young. No real signs of development yet, just lots of bright, vibrant fruit ranging from more classic Mosel citrus and apple flavours to riper peachy notes. There's good acidity beneath that balances the sweetness well, but this needs time.

  • Dinner at Steve & Barb's house. AP#31-06. Light yellow in the glass, this lovely wine is still drinking young with a delicate light to medium bodied palate full of minerals, apples, cherries and nectarines. Very long on the finish. I'm not sure why I grab this particular wine every time Dena asks to drink a young Riesling but it is yet to disappoint. 50+12+13+8+8=91
