≈50 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then closed. Some sediment notes; Private Preserve after Day 1.
N: Ripe plum, poss some wild straws with notes of violets & hints of minerals
P: Med body; NICE frt met by an astringent pucker which fairly quickly transitions into a LONG finish with a pleasant, VERY slightly tangy, anise tinged note to the firming, very, VERY fine tannins. Worked acceptably with MEast Mixed Take Out, though it showed sufficient stuffing to have accompanied considerably > substantial fare. Tasty by itself as well, & not even remotely tired in a sturdy style for drinking into its 10th, poss longer. 14.2% ABV; My EXC (92,93/100 using that metric). // Day 2: ≈aromas, P having held VERY nicely, tonight's Lasagna in Marinara Sauce (Take Out) highlighting an anise aspect I'd not noticed previously. [As of late Nov '20, wine-searcher still shows 3 sources from $55-$63].
Also tasted on 1/21/17 + 6/25 & 8/28/20.

≈90 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then closed. Notable sediment in the neck of the bottle; Private Preserve after Day 1. Slightly chilled both days because of warm ambient room temp
N: Closed; Ripe plums with notes of spice & hints of pyrazines
P: Med body; Rndish entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which quite works itself out by the LONG finish with a tangy/swtness & hints of spice to the unoffensively firming, VERY fine tannins. While the night's Refried Beans, Mx Rice A Roni, & Spicy Marinated Skirt Steak brought out a bitter/swtness, I thought it an asset rather than deficit. So far my EXC-/EXC, & should be good to go through '23. // Day 2: Aromas ≈ Day 1's, with the addition of some floral notes? P also very similar, the wine certainly NOT having suffered for the addt'l day. Therefore, & because it did well with the night's Chx (SP) with Rice, my EXC, & it should maintain through '24 (& poss even improve a TAD?) [As of late Aug '20, wine-searcher still shows 5 sources from $50-$70].
Note: Also tasted on 1/21/17 & 6/25/20, when it didn't show NEARLY as well on Day 2.

≈85 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then closed. Noted a fair amount of sediment in the neck of the bottle; Private Preserve after Day 1.
N: FRAGRANTLY *ripe* blkberries with notes of iron & hints of pyrazines
P: MF body; RNDISH entry with very NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it works its way into a very LONG, balanced finish with ult a pleasantly alluring TANGY/swtness (55:45) to the fairly unobtrussive, yet firming, dusty tannins. Drinking BEAUTIFULLY right now, though with plenty of life left for drinking into '24. My EXC (92,93/100 using that metric), & I could see EXC+ *if* paired with a compatible entrée, the night's Chx Breast with Feta/Spinach Stuffing™ [a Costco MRE] *not* being that, with the 1 serving of Grilled Skirt Steak being a somewhat better match. // Day 2: Still fragrant, the pyrazines being slightly > prominent. Went reasonably well with the night's Meatloaf & Scalloped Potatoes side, the main's Swt Chili Sauce being an unsettling factor. Overall, though, I felt the frt had fallen off > I would have expected. :( Therefore, probably best to consume by early '23? [As of late Jun '20, wine-searcher still shows 5 sources from $50-$70].
Note: 1st tasted on 1/21/17.
™[The stuffing was slightly > problematical than the Chx, though that wasn't very compatible either.]

High intensity ripe (but not overripe) classic syrah notes. Still tasting extremely young but very enjoyable.

Heavy medicinal bouquet and front pallet. Only after an hour or so did the other qualities come forward. Disappointed. Maybe this bottle only?
