This bottle has noticeable pyrazines - green bell pepper on the nose. On the palate it's nice - well-rounded with tertiary flavors (not much primary fruit), medium-long length and some nice acidity for a clean and pleasant finish. Enjoyable. Still green pepper notes throughout. Will let it air out more and see what happens.

A profound nose of ripe black fruits, stewed plums, toasted licorice, smoked bell peppers and tobacco, sweet vanilla and clove, leather and dried leaves. Good balance and aromatic complexity. The more you swirl your glass, the more nuances you would detect. The same flavour profile is found on the palate which is rich, long and deep. Full-bodied. Open structure with some bite coming from the acidity and Cabernet power at the edges, providing a welcome lift to the plush mouthfeel. Seamless transition to a velvety finish. Some decanting would open the wine even more. At its peak now. Drinking well for at least the next 3 years.

Had as part of a blind tasting, could not even recognize it was a Mclaren Vale cab as it was completely different from the last Mclaren Vale cab I had. The wine was mature but still quite powerful, overwhelming green bell pepper on the nose but ripe fruit and tobacco on the palate.

Dark ruby purple color with no signs of bricking; aromas of tobacco and leather; full body with mature jammy fruit and balanced soft tannins; a lovely aged Aussie Cabernet that has several more years left.

A bad bottle. Lots of browning. Tastes oxidised and unpleasantly sour.
