Ripe, powerful, dark fruit. Those old vines are really make their mark here and they still deliver remarkable concentration. Decanted and with time it opened up but might have benefited from 2-3 more hours to really mellow it out. This is such a different wine from the other Richemone cuvee from Perrot-Minot which is so graceful and elegant and gentle. Best suited for a wintery and meaty dish.

Burgundy Tasting (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Ripe, dark hued fruit, sweet spice, savoury, slightly meaty...Medium plus intensity acidity, drying tannins, savoury dark fruits, finishes a little bitter with alcohol warmth...long but it's a bit overdone...

(SYP) Sour plum, new oak in the beginning. Later turned into a mix of cherry, plum, earth, spice, mineral, lactic and vegetal notes. Complex and interesting nose. Relatively soft tannins for a NSG. Round, warm, concentrated and robust. Good underlying materials. Agree with other TNs - interesting to drink but not so nuanced. Drink or hold. 92+ 13%

Domaine Perrot-Minot Tasting/Dinner with Some Other Great Burgundy from DNS (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Tasted several times tonight over 4 hours. Black and red cherry with baking spice. Powerful to start but slightly backward, this became longer and more powerful with a few hours in a decanter. Very fun, even if not incredibly nuanced. Cellar at least 5 more years.

Monday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Clos de Tart, Lambrays, Bonneau du Martray and Perrot-Minot (Cote d'Or): Tasting at the domaine. Planted in 1902, average vine age approx 80 yo. Cross-section of black and red fruit with baking spice that comes across as bolder and brawnier vs the Chambolle d'Orveau Ultra, but less texturally exciting or nuanced. I prefer the Orveau.
