  • A gift from Marco Brunello; we had it with Maine lobster, baguette and drawn butter.
18 ct. color; the wine is really nice, it took quite a while to open up, but - at the very end - it showed its best: balanced and refined. Unfortunately they overdid the oak a bit; there was a noticeably bitter/ astringent note on the palate. Went best with the lobster tail.
A fine bottle of wine, but certainly not the best Wine Burgundy I had.
Since it was a gift, I do not know how much he paid for it originally but would assume the QPR is not a great one.

  • Outstanding. Wonderful rich fruit, some pineapple, a touch of vanilla and some wood. Really long and dense on the palate. One of the better Montrachets that I've had.

  • X-mas dinner at Loek & Saskia, this wine didn't open. There was elegance and the wine had a certain balance
in the midtaste, but at the end the wine missed direction.

  • Initial oak aromas over lemon/lime fruit, give way to warm roasted hazelnuts and wood smoke with time in the glass. On the palate the wine is rich and buttery, with lime and mineral nuances running along a beautifully balanced acid spine; while a zesty spice kicks in to help this wine on its way to a long, count the minutes, toasty finish.
