  Salon Ficofi Paris walkabout tasting and dinner, no detailed tasting notes. From DMG. Very much from the commercial playbook. Blue fruit, lots of oak, extracted fruit (a bit drying), aromatically with modest complexity. Uninteresting for a really refined palate, not to mention the ridiculous price. I think you can buy a Bdx blend from South America for 50 bucks that does the same thing.

  Still young, but approachable. Very enchanting on the nose. More of a wow factor there than on the palette. Far from the wow factor of the 2008 Masseto and 2006 Mouton.

  Has been named with the other 6 or 7 other top vintages as a can’t miss. I have to agree. Cab Sav lead but nuanced with Cab Franc , i think. This beauty is drinking very well right now but has the the legs for another 30 years. Gobsmacked by the charmer.

  Gorgeous purplish red color. Tart blackberry, red currant, light strawberry, graphite, fresh sawn wood and that amazing smell you get when you walk into a winery barrel cave. Beautiful bouquet of red fruits on the palate wrapped in an incredibly well structured wine. Still young but quite enticing already.
  
  p.s. rigatoni cinghaile and spinach salad with pancetta vinaigrette
