Finally drank this bottle with OD and Katzie. It was still quite alive (from magnum) though after a while I could sense the fruit tiring. It is a bit stern, a reflection of a lean vintage I believe, but overall a pleasurable really nice food wine.

Although decanting for 2 hours, this only awoke after swirling around in the glass for 30 mins. Straw-like fug with mellow red fruits on the nose; raspberry red in colour, fading slightly at the edges; light-medium bodied with a cool mouth feel; dry cranberries, spicy, with just a hint of mediterranean oregano on the palette; dry and refreshing just-present tannins really lifted the wine, finish fades rather quickly; recalcitrant and austere in an old-school Bordeaux way but well-made, clean and elegant nonetheless. Unlikely to get much better so I'd drink up now, like a thirsty Scotsman.

Very nice nose. A bit sweet with plum and dry fruit. Color show signs of aging - a bit dark and dull. This vintage seems a bit thin. Still a steal given the price. Yet I like the 2001 more.

Evolved colour with cherry core and brick red rim. Pronounced classic Bordeaux nose of cedar, pencil shavings, cassis, spice. Palate similar. Dry. Moderate acidity. Medium-bodied. Moderate alcohol. Moderate length. Elegant with much pleasure. Nice quality. Drink now.
