  • Popped for a summer dinner of burgers. Jeff at Mccarthy encouraged purchase of this last year. Some bricking on the rim with a dusty ruby robe. Scents of rose petals mixed with a little leather and spice. Light to medium bodied, it is quite pleasant after a day at the beach.

    Day 2
A little more evolved, still showing good fruit and grip with plenty of tannin. This is no wimpy wine! In fact, it shows better structure than last night. A delightful btl at $30 as the acidity is well checked by the rose-tinged fruit.

  • Light ruby. Lovely perfumed yet rustic nose, leather, black fruits, black pepper. Medium bodied, dark fruits, more on the rustic side, firm wine with crisp acidity, firm tannins, and enough fruit to balance it all off . Medium long finish, slightly drying. This is very nice and should mellow out nicely. I prefer a bit less rusticity in my Volnay but that's the only complaint.
