Deep ruby red. Quite jammy on the nose and palate with layers of bramble berries, anise, spices, purple floral and some darker notes too. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Good spices and cinnamon on the palate with some gravel and dark fruits. Medium to medium plus finish. Drink till 2020.

This could be wine for people who don't much like red wine. This is the definition of over-extracted. I generally like jammy over extracted wine and that is what this is... I find it, pleasant a but sweet and certainly has not subtly or nuanced. It needs a half hour to open for the tannins to balance out the fruit from front to back. If you PNP you may be disappointed. Decent QPR as well.

Darkest purple, Port-like depth; ripe grape nose; prunes; shoe polish (can't remember the chemical term); big body; chewy; long thick finish. w/ribs or sausage pizza. Nothing light.
