Sight: Clear and bright, medium ruby color with brick rim Nose: Clean and developing aromas of dried red fruit (cherry, cranberry), dried herbs (thyme, oregano), leather, tobacco, and earthy undertone Palate: Dry with high acidity, high tannins, and high alcohol. Medium to full-bodied with flavors of red fruit (cherry, raspberry), leather, tobacco, and earthy notes. The tannins are grippy, providing a firm structure and a long finish. Conclusion: This is a well-structured and complex Barolo with developed aromas of dried red fruit, herbs, leather, and earthy undertones. The high acidity, tannins, and alcohol provide a firm structure and balance to the wine. This wine can be enjoyed now but has potential for further aging.

The nose is immediately inviting with whiffs of smoke, plum and meats. It is full and textured with a big hit of fruit up-front and flavours that dry off nicely on the finish.

At the winery. Deeper ruby-purple than the 2013 No Name Nose is intense, sweet cherry and Kirsch. Initially: wow, lovely mouthfeel. Palate of cedar, strawberry, cherry, other red and black fruits. Finish: Very, very fine tannins, nicely resolving, lots of them though. Hints of tar, smoke. This is really very good. For the basic Barolo: impressive. 92+/100 (2.2+)
