not nearly as good as last bottle from same box. over the top on the oak and a bit unbalanced with the acidity; given my experiences with previous bottles, this was an outlier but why given the provenance??
Rich color, seemingly plenty of life left. Agree with earlier reviews noting a nose filled with with roses and ripe cherries followed by some green flavors that actually worked to create an intriguing combo. All in all, likable but not quite lovable.
purchased on release. still young and tannic but very much like a pauillac in california- a beautiful medium to full bodied wine that is completely in harmony- great middle and a superlong finish- this has a long life ahead of it- beautiful black fruit, cassis, espresso, and smoke- a wine that seriously overdelivers.
