Nicely aromatic, I get the graphite and cassis that others have noted. Plush and ripe on the palate, plenty of juicy plum fruits remain. Nice wine, but not very typical of varietal.

excellent bottle, coffee on the nose, I found no correlation between the nose and the taste, actually didn't like the nose, but the wine was excellent, well balanced. It was part of a spanish wine tasting, finished a strong second to a 1973 spanish wine.

A co-worker's Farewell: Very ripe on the nose. Tempranillo is not what I would have guessed. Great palate, and very approachable. Lots of ripe fruit. 90-91

I found this bottle to be phenomenal. Its aromatics are intense and reminiscent of a ripe, young Lafite. Pencil lead, sawdust, ripe cassis, and cinnamon spice with cedar. The palate is intense and densely packed with plum, vanilla, coriander, and very dusty tannins with a very destinct earthiness. I could see this one lasting 10 more years. If tasted blind, I would have guessed Bordeaux for sure. Highly recommended.

Aurait été délicieux si ça n'avait pas été du début de bouchon ... dommage.
