Like prior reviews, quite surprising. I have followed Markko wines for years, and this one fits perfectly into their portfolio of super high-quality wines. Beautiful golden honey hue leads to aromas honey, guava and other tropical fruit. It's quite sweet, as one might expect from a late harvest. There's an interesting spice cloves— likely imparted by oak. Well-balanced... Seems to have integrated since the prior reviews. Good finish, with lots of tang and citrus peel.

In Vino Veritas Session 5 (MIT): First bottle was corked. Second seemed fine but had a pretty muted nose. Almost mango chutney it's so spicy. *Lots* of botrytis on the palate. A little off-kilter - the alcohol is coming through somewhat, but the acid-sweetness balance is good. Finishes a little short. 11.5%, $70 / 750 ml.

Well, that was unexpected. This sounds frightening on paper. But I'll be damned if this thing doesn't drink like a mid-level German Riesling. The maker claims it's TBA-level sweetness, and it struck me more as an auslese, but that's being picky. Great acidity, a hefty dose of diesel, nice mouthfeel. Nice stuff.

Apricot and floral nose. Full bodied, rich, mouth filling with nicely balanced acidity.

Pretty consistent with previous, but a bit less balance as the acidity came to the fore - which did well with cheeses.
