Purpur colored as if it was straight out and new. Dark red fruits galore. Full bodied and powerful - drank cool to dampen the alcohol. Very concentrated, a bit off balance. long good aftertaste.

Henri Bloem Bloemendaal, spring tasting event: Deep dark, very juicy and pure, nearly overconcentrated, good citrus, balanced; showing very well at the age of 7.

Look what we got here " quote from a movie... who knows which one :)
Left it for a while before tasting it, current vintage is 2017 here, and see it was worth it, nice leathery character melted with fruit, not too ripe again, I really am afraid of late ripening shiraz from OZ... giving too much of a plumy, jammy character to the wines, here nothing like that !
Papalte is balanced and fresh, acid is quacking still and quite a vibrant wine, well made, with a finish on a light evolution... Good wine

Big, Southern Hemisphere wine. Quick decant for 20 minutes then with beef stroganoff. Evolves rapidly, changes flavors almost every sip. Settles down after an hour. Nose is savory with iron, tomato/blood, prune, earth, unripe blackberry. Big, mouth-coating flavors same as nose. Healthy acid, smooth/no tannins. Maybe this doesn’t sound delightful but with juicy beef or dry dark chocolate bar this is more than serviceable on a Wednesday night. Will drink again.

PnP. Plush fruit, rich, very smooth, and balanced by drying oak. Excellent value.
