High-end mature Riesling (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Glass: Schott Definition Universal Broader and riper than the 2001, but still very dense and deep. Warm fruit, lots of botrytis. Still a very beautiful wine, even though I could not drink the whole bottle. 91-92

Online Blind Tasting #3 (Online): *** brief notes from online blind tasting *** Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, ~4cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day three. Glass: Zalto Universal Clean, medium golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Clearly botrytis driven, orange zests and blossoms, spices, dried apricot, mango. Dry with some noticeable sugar “tail”. Acidity seemed rather medium at first, but is certainly high, just fights with the 14% abv and the high extract. On the palate vanilla, phenolic bitterness, zests, spices, honey all driven by botrytis. Good pressure and tension, lots of extract. Creamy, dense and deep, but also a bit broad and sweet. Long finish with bitter orange notes and orange marmalade. General potential for 10+ years, but this particular bottle certainly not. 92-93

Concept Riesling Christmas Special 2019 (Concept Riesling, Düsseldorf): not blind, from Magnum Colourwise really dark golden but very fresh in the palate. Powerful, yellow stone fruits but refreshing acidity. Great length. From "better" bottles at least 5-7 more years ahead. 94-95

Deep yellow/golden. Ripe, botrytized aromas. Rich, off dry but not as sweet as the nose would suggest. Adequate acidity to retain balance and interest. Good but too loosely structured.

Full yellow. Early mature petrol, tea, and dried peach. Authoritative feel but elegant at the same time. Mix of stone fruit and citrus laced with stone at the end. Great drive, breed, and persistence. Given my lackluster experience with 2005 Austrian Rieslings, including this bottling, I must say that this superb example was a bit of a bolt from the blue. I could see this going on for another 5 to 10 years.
