The note from January holds. This is a special bottle that is just a great example of this type of wine. If you enjoy this style, run don’t walk. But if not, that’s ok - these are already tough to find and afford. What a great wine to match with cheese. (96)

Wow. This is just special. Golden color. Nose just bursts with raw corn, hay, roasted nuts and yeast. Dry, juicy, oxidized fruit. The palate is so long. Lasts for a minute plus. So complex. So long. What a way to finish an evening. There is a sweet perception to the feel of this wine that is just wild - it’s totally dry. Crazy fun. (96)

First bottle of vin jaune; unsure at this point if this bottle may be off; the nose was very savory with sauteed mushroom and a meaty almost feral note; there was some underlying nuttiness and maybe citrus, but hard to get past the other smells; the palate was flat and somewhat disjointed. Left open and will revisit.

Rich nose of citrus, hazelnuts, butter, minerals, and herbs. Good acidity on the palate with more citrus and lemon, as well as herbs. Nice finish. This felt quite tight to be honest and in need of time. Very promising Vin Jaune, though, but not as enjoyable now as the 2009 Labet we had the previous night. 94++
