Spicy and toasted notes of mocha and cacao, integrated into a more fruity character (blueberry, currant), with a background of violet, mint and licorice. Hot and velvety at palate; wrapping. Long finish. Certainly not a traditional Barbaresco, but eventually a good wine, not over-oaked.
Clear, orangish. Nothing much on the nose. Palate: big teeth-coating tannins, high acidity, high alcohol (14%), but not unbalanced. Oak, earth, minerals, tar, a little flowery, dried herbs, no primary fruit. Inelegant, rough and harsh at this stage. Hard to judge its future.
