Hard to be sure it's a cracker yet. Give it another year I would say. Beautiful restrained fruit, nice balance, good harmonious finish that lingers. Just a bit of a sharp dry edge when it hits the palate. I reckon it might tame and be lush in the future, still packing plenty of flavour.

wine makers notes 'Sandra’s Block in Willunga from Christies Beach Formation of alluvial fan clay, sand and gravel. A free draining soil, it delivers Shiraz of great purity and brightness, with pretty violet notes and chewy tannins that drive the length of the palate. This is in contrast to The Chinese Block lying over Black Biscay Clay, a dark dense cracking soil that delivers an opulent and brooding style of Shiraz'
This wine is a mix from both vineyards
A beautifully balance wine of great depth and flavour. The nose is a bit unusual for me a mix of meat and bread. Plenty of fruit and a hint of tannin tells me this will develop further for many years. It is becoming hard to get so if you want it hunt around and grab what you can but never pay full price.
28/1/2017 Revisited. Pizza dough and pepper on the nose. The wine is big and fruit driven. Tannins have soften out . The wine itself is luxurious fruit . It's been ,about 8 months since my last bottle, and the wine is just a cracker. I had to go back and up my points, this really has developed into one beautiful drop.

Tasted a bit past its prime. Maybe a poor bottle?

Big wine with lots of black fruits on the nose and palate. Has a long life ahead still
