Lovely old wine. Medium leather with notes of black cherries mixed with anise. Probably best drank 5 years ago but still darn good. I love Cyrus but would next time buy 2010-current. I would drink anything 2015 or older and cellar anything younger.

Tart red cherrys and ripe dark plums. Powerful nose with forest floor, cedar chest, and a distinct milk chocolate note. Medium body, medium plus acidity, surprisingly lean texture but still with some good weight. Well balanced overall but the alcohol does show itself a bit on the nose. Shockingly long finish hanging on the pronounced acidity with finely knot tannins. Decanted and drank with a butter basted ribeye with rosemary, thyme, shallots, and garlic and a romaine salad with nectarines, avocados, and red onions with Katie at home.

Drank from 3L on Thanksgiving. Was outstanding--no formal notes taken but enjoyed by all. Well balanced with good structure-tannins totally resolved. Would absolutely buy another 3..... if I could find one
