Smell is fairly robust: currants, black cherries, the usual... Letting this wine breathe properly smoothed it out a lot. Taste is similar to the nose, add tar. This is a MAN'S WINE! Drink it with a big ol' juicy steak. Not a wine for sipping by the seaside. Great? No. But a decent accompaniment to a big, gluttonous meal.

this is one unusual wine. after airing out for about an hour we got a strong liquid butterscotch thing, a bit sweet a bit carmelly, but wonderful all around.

surprisingly, some sediment on the cork, nose was a bit shy, of dark berries, but the attack comes on well with cherry, rhubarb, deep berry flavor, and a long tart finish, went well with gourmet macaroni and cheese(s), overall an interesting variation of the variety

Light bodied and higher acidity. Alch 14.5%. Cherries and blackberries on the nose and palate, but short. Prefer the Real McCoy from Alba
