  • Still tight closed at opening. Started showing granache, berry fruity attack with a balanced finish of spicy, earthy tannins. Well proportioned wine that opened and improved over a 2 hour dinner. Drinking well but still full of life for another 3-5 years.

  • Vinturi/decanted for an hour - objectionable to start. Integrated over next 2-3 hours. A lot of nice mineral and structure, black fruit. Pleasant, but the heat and the lock of integration prevented a better score. My first of four bottles, but I don't see myself pursuing more.

  • Deep ruby color. Some pancake syrup on the nose that faded quickly, with dark fruit and grilled herbs coming out in its stead. Fully body, medium acid, chalky tannins. Delicious blackberry fruit on the palate with the tannins provide some nice balance. Very tasting, though perhaps lacking in complexity.

  • Initial PnP presented a flabby, one-dimensional cherry flavored wine. However, after a few hours decant to open up, it showed it’s true colors as a very good wine with peppery, licorice, cherry dimensions that is complemented nicely with a slightly hot/alcoholic dynamic ensuring you remember it is a 15%+ abv southern rhone. Not all will like the heat it shows, but I found it complemented the flavor profile well and added to versus taking away from the experience.
Very nice, probably has a few more years before it peaks but drinking well now with a decant.

  • Dynamic flavor profile over 1-2 hours. Raspberry jam, charcuterie, low-key pepper and even lemon, vanilla. Medium to full bodied. Finishes with a bit of tobacco, charcoal, nutmeg. Above nicely balanced with finely integrate tannins. Definitely drinkable now, but I'm saving the rest of the case for 2-3 years.
