Ribs and Big Reds (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Purple color. PNP, drank 1+ glass over 3 hours. Funny, looks like no one has had this in years. Jan's bottle, and the last of a local store's closeout steal from years ago. These wines don't all hold up but this was still in a very good place. A lovely Aussie with an aromatic nose of blackberry, cassis, subtle earth, modest eucalyptus, pencil, and this gets wonderfully meaty after the first 30 minutes. The palate is full bodied and completely contains the alcohol, blackberry, blackberry, liqueur, glycerin, pepper, nice tannins, black and blue fruits, roasted game. A well made wine, breaking the mold of many Aussie shiraz. Perfect with our smoky pork ribs. 93+pts.

Roasted meats, menthol, sweet fruits and dirt. Bottle is not as good as previous efforts and past peak on this wine. 86
Once again the benefit of those who actually know what they are doing in this game. Saving wine in bottle was key. This has developed into a much better wine with coffee, minerals, roasted meats and complex flavors. I will see how it does even later. 91 points

This got amazing better with a Vinturi. Tons left in the tank with blackberries, smoke, spices and floral notes. I will revisit on Sunday and see if it doesn't improve a bit more.

First taste before decanting: Aussie Cab. Earthy, olive, eucalyptus.
2 hours of decanting didn’t reveal a lot more. Really nice wine but hoped for more.
