Cork was almost soaked through. Decanted off the sediment in the morning then recorked and opened at night. This wine felt just in the right place right now, lots of lovely fruit, acidity and a little development, absolutely delicious.
Three years later, the profile here has changed little, with expressive sweetness sexing up a core of gravelly earth. Impressive in the way it builds power in the mouth, but the tannins are moving in the right direction with age. I think this will please for the entire extent of what should be a long cellar life.
Lots of pretty and bright acids. Juicy tart raspberries with a fresh warmth. A good stucture and meatiness underneath. Clean finish. This wine really hits a sweet spot with me above it (pretty high) quality.
Light ruby-red. Sweet, red fruit-and-gravel nose. Juicy in the mouth, with effusive raspberry and apricot flavors. Tannins appear on the finish and grip the gums without drying the palate. With air, a candied note became noticeable on the finish. Still going on Day #4, with the aromas dominated by a sweet cigar/ashtray character. The structure also became more prominent.
