Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 90.9 points

  • Can’t say I notice any difference from a year ago. Followed over three days open with little degradation or positive development... it just is what it is: a tasty, creamy, ripe, and tooth-staining Rhône blend from Paso. Not my favorite of this house’s stable but still worth the price of admission.

  • I remember being super impressed with this one at the tasting room 3.5 years ago. Meaty dark fruit Syrah, with a touch of that bacon fat. I'm used to my McPrice Myers being turned up to an 11, the was hovering around an 8... good wine. Not great. Alc. was in check

  • Notes after two hours open in a decanter. It is very opaque, dark ruby in color with a light haze and no sediment falling out. Surprisingly modest nose, primarily of boysenberry pie, a little bacon fat, white chocolate, honey, and spice. A little hotter on the alcohol than I prefer, but it also has the usual, delicious fruit and creamy mouthfeel I expect from McP-M. The tannins are not exactly harmonious at this point, so I will (hopefully) give my remaining bottle a good year or more. 5+11+16+8= 90
