This wine went on the deep decline. Nose is still damn good but mid palate is pretty. Overall it held up well for 14 years and is still an interesting drink but just lacking the wow factor at this stage.

I usually don't like over oaked Chardonnays but this wine is ripping gbood. On the nose it has sea salt taffy and a bit of burnt toast. In the mouth buttered popcorn is absolutely undeniable with a bit of citrus to follow. Tannins are virtually nonexistent for a wine of this age. Finishes crisp and clean. At $60 this may on the pricey side of oaky Chardonnays but I doubt few can last 15 years. Good academic exercise for anyone who want to taste older white wines from the new world.
