Poured a pale yellow with a hint of gold. Incredible nose of wax, oil, lanolin, sea spray and oyster shell. You could bathe in this nose. Palate didn’t disappoint. Rich, opulent, generous. You name it, as far as chablis goes, this had it. Absolutely reference standard. Sadly, my last bottle and I doubt I’ll ever drink raveneau clos approaching maturity again given current prices,

Probably the best Chablis I have ever had. The quality and balance on this wine is stratospheric. But among all the finale of this wine is just breathtaking. Lemon curd, white flowers, slightly cheesy, just gorgeous.

Sunday Lunch with Raveneau Chablis and Chave Hermitage (Piccino Restaurant, San Francisco): Light yellow. Fragrant citrus, much riper than the 2014. Sweet orange attack, beautiful glycerine feel followed by rising acidity and a structured finish that is drenched in soil and leaves a feel of stone dust on the tongue. The interplay between perfectly ripe fruit and the mineral/acid elements is just thrilling, and it still has many years to go.

This wine showed finesse and complexity. Incredible length with chablis minerality. Very nice wine.
