  • This has aged very well. It still has a lot of fruit. The oak is there, but is soft and adds to the feel. Intense flavor, great nose, soft tannins, full mouth feel, and a sustained finish. Great with food and chocolate.

  • Blend: Tempranillo
    Color: Dark inky red
    Aroma: Dark berries and spice
Taste: Rich chery, tar, slight chew and spice
    Finish: Medium to long
Notes: Excellent value. Drinking very well. Has more life in it.

  • This wine was as good as when we drank our first bottle in 2007. It's great that we still have a few bottles left.

  • Aromatics of vanilla, olives, red fruits and smoke. On the palate red currants, dusty earth, fig paste, and bitter dark chocolate on the med length finish. Very nice density with firm toro character albeit a little more on the red side than black. Flaws are its heat and bitterness but its really not that distracting considering the highlights of the wine. Great qpr and a great showing of what tempranillo can do in this region.

Side note: I had this out of a low rimmed plastic water glass, I have to think this would break 90 in proper stems.....

  • Color: A deep medium purple - not as opaque as a syrah or cabernet, but dark indeed.
Nose: This has a bit of earth, and Vaynerchuk is right - smoked ham and swet cherry sauce, with a hint of what smells to me like a chewable vitamin. Interesting.
Palate: Nice and expressively spicy, with a light grape fruitiness on the background. A pretty dry wine - I wonder if a little bit of decanting time would soften and sweeten the explosive spice here. The alcohol is well-integrated, though the wine is a tiny tad hot.
Finish: Easily the biggest detractor here - the finish is very short, lasting 5-10 seconds, and not being very interesting. Still, overall a pretty good wine for the price.

An interesting take on the Tempranillo grape that I've never had anything like before. Went well with burgers, interestingly enough.
