this is a pretty interesting & intense wine. definitely comes across with the black fruit on the nose, and even a little cherry floating through hidden underneath. kind of a stewed fruit component to it. initial mouth feel is smooth, and the wine has pretty nice body, but it's the finish that goes out to lunch on this wine. it ends up with a LONG lasting bitter grapefruit component, that while interesting isn't necessarily that *good*. that said, i think this is a fairly interesting wine, and shows how a wine can go from A to B to C within the course of one sniff/sip. i probably won't be buying a case of this any time soon, but i'd rather have a wine like this for under a ten spot than a boring, one dimensional, run of the mill "red". kooky.

Moderately dark color, nice blackberry nose with a whiff of anise on opening. Blackberry with light cherry overtones, moderate tannins with hint of cedar, light black cherry finish. Very nice.

Surprisingly still drinkable so many years later - plum notes and somewhat ashy in the finish. Probably not what it used to be and fairly simplistic.

A nice rich typical corbieres that really is much better than expected... smooth and chocolatey - great for the price!

This was a real winner! Lots of plum, cedar and smoke. Smooth, medium body, nice mouth feel. Very nice especially with food.
