Last bottle of a case of 12 bought a few years ago and drank on Christmas Day 2021. Just wonderful, and everything I love about mature Burgundy. No notes taken, but I remember I preferred this to a very different but also gorgeous La Conseillante 1985 served b4. Every bottle from the case has been a joy, and this last bottle just as impressive as the first and no sign of decline...I will miss having this wine in my cellar, but it has provided so, so much pleasure!

I thought this was very fine, complex, mature Burgundy, with lots of fruit still in effect - agree with JR 'everything is in really impressive alignment'. Definitely singing now...First of a case, if the rest are as good as this, I'll be very happy.

Nose of light baking spice and cherry. The mouth was lacking concentration- the fruit was monodimensional, though still extremely fresh. Some tertiary notes. A little leather a little forest floor but very little. For the most part the palate hovered around cherry and leather and didn't develop to more complexity. Not bad not great. For the wait and for the provenance altogether disappointing.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune Grèves Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus) Unfortunately the first bottle was corked, hence, the replacement was a little colder. The nose starts tight and high-toned over a begrudging deeper base. Characteristically soft and silky palate, good concentration for a 2000 Beaune - 15% was declassified to achieve this - but still not the same mid-palate punch. If this wine has an extra dimension, it is on the finish. Again the tannins are excellent.

This was fine, but this price range, definitely drink 05/10.

From methuselah. Open with fine fruit, some forest notes, spices, smoke. Quite spice and rich on the palate, complex and long. 91-93
