Needs air and appropriate temperature, took a while out of the wine fridge to taste like anything. But then nice and long, not complex but good for pasta. Quite fruity and interesting enough for after dinner.

Took a while to open up; needed to breathe for at least two hours before it really got going. Even so, a superb wine throughout. Initially, leather and cured meat on the nose followed through nicely onto the palate, which added clove. Not much of a finish at first. Eventually, this turned into a big, beautiful wine with tons of ripe, red fruit on the nose and palate, a hint of rustic herbs and a sharp (but too-short) finish. A very fine wine overall. When the fruit flavors came forward, the leather and meat retreated, so, although it develops well over time, it never becomes particularly complex.
