Served at the Domaine as a mystery wine, it clearly had age as it the nose was sweet and fully mature, with a bit of truffle notes coming up. On the palate, the soft and smooth fruit was quite sound and the acidity vibrant. While this was plenty old, it was not fading - it held nicely in the glass. The finish seemed to be held together by the acidity. The finish was short but beautiful while it lasted - more staccato versus a waltz!
Edward Roberts International Pre-Auction Tasting (Union League Club of Chicago): Edward Roberts International Pre-Auction Wine Tasting. Beautiful deep dark toffee brown in color. Incredible aromas of sweet vinegar, cinnamon and clover. Barnyard floor and crispy hay. Lovely floral finish with persistent length. Certainly a bit over its time, but still remarkable. I WAS ALLOWED TO TAKE THE EMPTY BOTTLE AS WELL!!!
