Great showing. Moderate (compared to modern Auslese) sugars, zippy acids, long. Apples, ginger, cinnamon, minerals. Better showing than I remembered. Quickly drained. A-

With some time in the glass, and with temperature, this is really creamy and well balanced. After 24 years in half bottle the acidity is mellow and soft, not sparkling. The nose is young and flowery, elderberries, lemon curd and rubber (a la old white Bordeaux). No petroleum which surprised me. Not supersweet, but very good balance. Great now!

From a half bottle; not a spectacular vintage, but with the skills of Haag it was a very balanced wine, partly nearly creamy, partly fresh with a ripe acidity. Combined it was very charming and balanced. From Loek's cellar.

Last of my bottles, and the best showing I've had yet. Totally seamless, with pears, gooseberry, citrus and riper orchard fruits all coming together with developed smoky and creamy elements. There's a very graceful, polished palate presence, moderate sweetness with bright acids giving it good lift, and a bottle disappears remarkably quickly. Drinking beautifully now.

All about elegance. Perfect sweet-acid balance, fresh and round. Limited power.
