  • Allowed to breathe in glass. Hazy chestnut-mahogany-brick red color. Aromas and flavors of green tobacco, cigar ash, dried manure, meat juice, old leather, dried mud, and stewed tomato. Not worth finishing the glass, and so it was left uncovered on the kitchen counter. By dinnertime the next night, the noxious aromas had dissipated, leaving a mellow old generic red wine that was more than adequate with food. Completely tertiary with no discernible fruit, but interesting, mellow, and not maderized.
