  • Topologically equivalent to 99 Folatieres, but ever so slightly weaker. 942/1224.

  • Leroy Field Trip; 2/11/2022-2/14/2022: 00942/1224. PnP and served alongside Folatieres. The cork actually says “En La Richarde Dit Les Folatieres” so it is interesting that this parcel should be village. It does taste a little less substantial than the premier cru, perhaps more rounded but with such classic Puligny fruit and acidity. The 90s are a different style but they are so true to its terroir. 93-94

  • Given the comparisons to Chevalier Montrachet I was expecting power. Instead I got elegance and balance along with floral and mineral puligny character. This bottle is still young and needed 2-3 hours to slowly pick up weight and power. All the while it remains impeccably balanced, not unlike the 98 Coche Caillerets. I believe the best is yet to come and will try to wait another 5 years to open my next one. Lovely. Just lovely.

  • 01059/1224. First vintage? Lemon, gunpowder, peach, butter, white fruit, limestone, cinnamon. Lovely lean Puligny profile with substantial weight and minerals to support. Clear, undertoned and spicy finish packed with acid. Superb composure. 95

  • Bigger than the 00 Chevalier Montrachet, this shared a lot of similarities. The nose was again expressive with a lovely mineral touch. In the mouth it does not have the same light textural feel, but that comes from the power and concentration. Of the 2 this was the wine that was nearest to full maturity and while there was again not a hint if premox, it's not going to continue to improve the way the Chevalier will. Fantastic to drink now though.
