  • Deep golden color, but very clear. Beautiful nose of lanolin and beeswax with hints on honey and orchard fruits. The palate is beautiful, with a lovely texture that just glides across the palate! The flavors are mostly of orchard fruit with a hint of beeswax and an intense oyster shell salinity on the finish. There are spring flowers and a slight graham cracker character that adds interest. Despite being 23, this is pure and fresh as a daisy and absolutely delicious! I can't stop drinking this!! 94

  • Sophisticated and intriguing. Honeyed fruit, acidity, very slight maderization, with a lengthy finish. Drinking really well for a 22-year old white rhone, and still in great shape (thanks to temperature-controlled storage for 15 years). Matched well with crab-cakes, but completely incompatible with sweet corn-on-the-cob.

  • Objectively speaking, this was a very good bottle of a rare wine from a great producer. But the low-acid honeysuckle flavors are a bit cloying to my tastes, and I invariably find myself wishing I were more taken with a wine any respectable wine geek should love than I am. And so it was with this.

  • Light yellow. No oxidative presence. Honey, almond, honeysuckle notes. Nice levels of acidity make this well balanced. Much better than previously consumed bottle- a great example of aged white Rhône.

  • Medium dark yellow. Floral bouquet with some mineral notes. Slow attack building to complex amalgam of fleur d'orange, nutty notes, a strong streak of minerality and judicious use of oak. Medium to long final.

This is big bodied, polished and complex. Very engaging and drinking very well at 18 years old.
