Color makes you think the Syrah and Mourvedre would be more prominent. Does not have that Mourvedre trademark earthiness. Tastes clean. 2nd of 6 bottles. 4 to go. Correct Provencal, kirch and spice armas, with a dried fruit quality that is hard to describe. Medium wight, good fruit presence, balanced acids, showing some nice development and complexity. | The Brunel family have been making wine in the Chateauneuf du Pape region since the 17th Century and the estate, currently under the guidance of Andre, is without doubt making some of the finest wines in the region, whether they are the entry level Cotes du Rhone or Chateauneuf du Pape, Les Cailloux. Since 1989, from a small parcel of land whose vines average over 115 years in age, he has in the finest vintages produced a separate "Cuvee du Centenaire". As agents we are very pleased to be able to offer a small selection of vintages from this remarkable Cuvee.
