  • Two bottles consumed this past week in an effort to organize some regional space in the cellar. No decant for either bottle and this was ready to drink with a little glass aeration.

Overall, nothing profound, but likewise no flaws. This drinks exactly as you would expect from CdP and the fruit here is on the plump but not jammy side. Reasonable acidity and tannins that supported the fruit. Both bottles were very consistent.

Apologies for no more detailed notes given this was a two bottle recap. Solid and ready to drink. Served with grilled meats on both occasions and paired well as expected.

  • Popped and poured. Tasted more than anything like a Beaucastel, no doubt owing to the large percentage of Mourvedre in the blend. Makes it thicker, richer, fuller than most CdPs, for sure. Nose more like Cote Rotie than Chateauneuf, and I certainly don't complain about that. Pretty prominent beam of acidity, but in a good way. Gives it a nice balance. This is pretty and very good. Still seems very young, but since I have no experience with this, I don't know how this will age. If I had to guess, I'd say it would. I like the style. This producer does it for me across a broad range of wines. Deep, rich, dark red should have been a giveaway. 5-12-16-8: 91/100.

  • 30 min decant. Only a little sediment apparent. What an easy drinker. Red currents, cranberry but with none of the tartness. Alcohol flavor perfectly waits patiently until the other flavors have had a turn and then presents itself in an orderly fashion. Smooth. Like rubbing your hand on freshly finely sanded wood. Think 220 grit. Med to short finish.
