  • This bottle had noticeable TCA. Drinkable but certainly not representative of this bottling. Drank slightly less than half and discarded the rest. It is very disappointing when you know the wine is so much better!

  • Decanted 3 hours and consumed over a further 3 hours. Consistent with TN from earlier this year. Excellent wine which is still quite primary but it remains just a notch below some of the other Teachworth cabs i have had. Still has plenty of stuffing and should drink well for another 10 years or more.

  • After a 2 hour decant the nose showed blackberry with smoke, earth and a little creosote. Medium to full bodied with a smooth texture. Intense blackberry and cassis fruit with nice balance leading to a long finish which lasts for 30+ seconds and has smooth, integrated tannins a little black tea on the very end. Not as good as some other Teachworth's i have had but still a very classy wine which should continue to drink well for a number of years.

  • Unbelievable layers of flavors - smoke, earth, chocolate milk, raspberry, and they just keep coming. The nose was out of this world.

  • Wanted something special to spoil myself and this didn't disappoint. Opened and decanted (I sipped 2 times before pouring a glass an hour and a half later).

As with previous teachwork experience this has a wonderful nose. Blackberry and cherry, hints of graphite and a touch of green herbacious aromas. The chocolate and sweet spice are there but subtle. It is deep ruby with plenty of purple life still left to it. From the first sip this wine is all about character. There is depth of flavor, but each level of flavor seems to be in balance and extremely smooth. I did find the wine the slightest bit hot the first sips and that it why I left to decant. The dark fruit and red fruit begin but they are not over powering, there is some graphite and leather as it pulls through to sweet spices and chocolate. It finishes with some green notes that are not overpowering and the lasting finish of currant and blackberry lingers for nearly a minutes. After decant everything seems in balance and delicious. I love that it can be a wonderful california cab, without at any point seeming fake or overpowering. Med + body, medium - acidity, medium tannins (but they are smooth and supple).

Extremely satisfied 93 points. I love the thought that the other '01's may be better than this. No rush to drink it. It is doing well mow but will likely be delicious for some time.
