Color what you expect from a 40 year old wine Nose shows some of the acidity on first taste Decanted 3 hours ahead of slow roasted lamb dinner Some acidity on first taste . minimal body and complexity . I blind tasted a chef and he thought it was a slightly over the hill and 3rd growth Bordeaux Drink now and don’t expect to be excited

This was really special to me. Opened as a blind/ringer by Cos65, and what a treat it was. There was modest bricking through the rim, largely transparent, but the wine was still quite fresh with stern tannins. We decanted it and it was still fairly coiled through the evening. Light in body (no one guessed Bordeaux) but fairly high toned. It wipes the floor with Haut Brion of the same vintage.

Served blind and stumped us all. No one identified bdx. Nice smokey nose mixed with some fine herbaceous notes.. Palate was well judged but rather fading on the finish. Still has some notable fine tannins. Strong effort in a weak year.
