I've had this wine 5-6 times over the last dozen years, never disappointed. I was half-expecting this latest bottle, purchased on auction, to show poorly due to the CT drinking window. Remarkably, this was still going strong & has legs to go another few years. Black fruits / wild berries, chocolate & cassis -- bordering on over ripe/sweet. But if you know this all going in: then it's why you're here to begin with, and is standard fare for most B&H!

Decanted for one hour. Similar notes as previous tastings, but this wine still needs a 45-60 minute minimum decant. Deep intense black fruits in the nose and flavor.. Dried plums, black cherries, black raspberries, blackberries, currants, licorice, and some floral. Well balanced, full bodied, and a long finish. We enjoyed this, but it won't be for everyone.

Don't know how to score this bottle. We gave this wine a 93 in 2017. This was so big on opening, it was difficult to drink. Though it did open up after 30-40 minutes, it was mainly dried plums, black cherries and leather in the nose, huge fruit in the flavor, but also a bit of alcohol in the finish. We're going to wait a year or more on our next and last bottle. It will need to be decanted at least 45 minutes, probably longer.

Floral notes. black raspberries, blackberries, currants, chocolate. licorice, and minerals. Well balanced and a long finish. The Cab Franc and Merlot really come out.
