  Maroon color showing some bricking. Nose and palate are completely secondary in nature. Very earthen, mushroom, stewed fruits, touches of Brett. Flat on the body. Past its prime window. Drink up

  Beautiful nose with top aromas of white flowers and a deep core of cherry cola and poppyseed. Light in weight but still maintaining a stern tannic structure. Racy acidity accents cherry fruit and rosewater. Drink now.

Very much a well-aged example of Barbaresco that mostly showcases the secondary elements of minerals, dried herbs, mushrooms, tar, decaying leaves, and camphor. There is some dark fruit but it is largely obscured by the above. This is still holding and has its charms, especially with a mushroom risotto, but this really ought to have been drunk up during the Obama years. Still holding some that I will need to get to soon.
