  • Rose and cherry flavor profile. Floral nose. Very acidic. Good Porterhouse steak accompaniment. But does not stand up well on its own.

  • Sharply acidic with sour plum and cherry flavors, moderating oak; better on the finish with pleasing fruit and floral notes. Needs a food accompaniment to balance the acids, but not the roast turkey we served it with.

  • My first foray into Burgundy. Clear, deep ruby. Aromatic nose of tart cherries, mushrooms, forest floor, and a hint of oak. Seemed thin and acidic at first, even a bit flabby (my first thought was not even pinot but a traditional salice salentino) but over a couple of hours, this wine developed in the glass, at last offering up tart cherry flavors. Noticeable tannins on the finish. Certainly not off-putting, but lacking the mouthcoating flavor intensity and aromatic profile of a 2001 Williams Selyem Russian River pinot tasted alongside as a reference.
