This has a dark ruby color. The nose is powerful, with heavy licorice, red fruit, earth and leather. Full body, displaying power and complexity with great persistence. This is much more intense than the 89 Beurrier we had side by side. Excellent.

Just at its apogee, ready and drinking beautifully with a lovely sois bois. Not as concentrated as the 95 and the 01 tonight but certainly drinking the best.

During a Zoom blind tasting. Nose of torrefaction, gingerbread, cake, clearly ripe. Tertiary aromas dominate with some oxidative tones as well. The palate had lovely sweetness. Drink up.

Thick legs. Dark red to purple. Sweet currants. 14.5% alcohol but well hidden. Adds so much weight with air. Classic style Rhone. Definitely not the Parker style. Shared by SW at Nadodi.

Tasted directly after the '99 Bonneau Celestins and you see where that will go with some additional bottle age. Lovely perfumed nose on this. Nicely knit together and complex on the palate, darker red fruit, spices and some earthiness. Very elegant with a masculine tilt. Really enjoyed this - thanks to Tony for graciously sharing his bottle!
