Purchased from Andrea at the Winery. First of three 750's + two 1.5's. Inky dark plum color. Nice nose of cedar and forest floor. Nice and chewy with firm tannins and dark fruit flavors. This is a really good wine and ready for prime time.

Dark purple/black colour. Aromas of coffee, blackberry, plums, and vanilla. Medium-full bodied, good acidity, with vanilla, black plums, black cherry, and blackcurrant. Moderate finish, 35s, with black fruit. In bottle for 1 month.

Wine: 2004 Sottimano Dolcetto Bric del Salto, Barbaresco
Date: Sept. 10, 2005
Color: Concord grape opaque purple color that stains the side of the glass when swirled. Transparent at the edge and gives a purplish kind of froth when poured and agitated.
Nose: Mild nose of cherries with some spices coming on after some evolution but generally a subdued perfume.
Palate: Tannins on the attack, red cherry and sour red cherry tastes mixed with sweeter black cherries.
Score: 50+4+11+14+8=87
Other remarks: 15,000 bottles of this produced. Andrea Sottimano says this ages very well in great years like 2004. This wine shows more nebbiolo characteristics than Dolcetto but still seems to lack the nose to get a better score.

Dark fruit, predominantly plum. Very bright acid. Nice, but so-so QPR at full retail (OK QPR at $22 that I paid).
