Rockss and Fruit

(Johannisoff Johannisberger Klaus Riesling Spatlese) Just checking in on one of my favorite '01's. Aromas of pink grapefruit, mineral, lemon rind, swimming pool (chlorine?, not unpleasant), and saltiness. Lush and ripe with prickly acidity and fantastic concentration of pitted fruits. A little closed but thoroughly ripe with vivid acids and a strong underpinning of minerals. I would say this is in a dormant state and would not not reccomend opening for at least five years. Still a beauty.

(Johannishof Johannisberger Klaus Spatlese) A beauty. Chalk, peaches, minerals, grapefruit, lavender, cedary musk, green tea. What a complex nose! Soft, lithe texture with delicate but intense fruit. A feathery attack is followed by a finish of mineral/peach/lime tarty intensity that really never dissipates. Beautiful structure and one of the best QPR's of the vintage.
