(First of 3) Started with a home spice and fennel nose that faded to a more floral note over a couple of hours. Red fruited palate, very dry, mid-weight body. Pretty acidic but with food well balanced. Med+ finish. Lacking the depth and intensity of grand cru but a lot of flavor for a village wine. I wish I could identify ‘classic Vosne spice’ but this did have some spicy (non-pepper) notes. Will be interesting to see how the other bottles show.

Ripe nose of plums and cassis. Fresh black cherries and violet arrive as the wine opens. Depth reveals roasted pigeon and thyme.
On the palate the wine begins taught and one dimensional. It slowly develops some breadth only to also display a tannic rigidity which betrays the stunning nose.
A wine which vacillates between wooing and challenging. Aroma of the wine encourages images of supple sunshine whereas the taste of the wine insists it is simply a great Rhone mistaken for Burgundy.

PNP into Grassl Liberte glass ("Flower' day): Medium garnet to the eyes.
Savory nose, hint of soy and sous bois with tertiary fruits like dark red and black dates and prunes.
Very high acidity, well-integrated palate. Good length. Body is leaner than the 1993 tasted before.
Slight off peak in my view and should hold for another few years. No need to wait and enjoy now. 94-95 points.

Fading ruby. Plum, violet, and pretty pine note that evolves with air. Lean palate, high acidity.

Slow out of the bottle but after 1-2 hours this comes together. Drink now.
