  • Light, lively, mature but very nimble on the palate. Bouquet of fruit fading but no raisins or other cooked fruits. Clean. Nice attack - smooth, not particularly deep or "meaningful" but well balanced. Lovely finish, a tad short but paired very well with the mild grilled Spanish sausages we served it with. All in all still a very food friendly wine that enhanced the meal, rather than attempted to dominate it. If you still have a bottle or two sitting in your cellars I would drink them sooner than later, but this wine was by no means over the hill. Alcohol was 14.5% but you would never know it! Alas, since 2008 this area of Spain has been given its own AOC status (Arlanza D. O.) and the winery is proud to let everyone know that it is now producing International Style wines.....what a shame.
