  • Pulled this from wine cooler today at 8yr. mark. Decanted 2hrs and tannins still firm and will be good for at least 2 more years. Brownish color and aging starting to take place. I don't think this is peaked yet. Wish I had more of the 2004 but I will hold my 2006 one's at least until 2016.

  • This one is big. Popped and poured a glass then poured the rest into a decanter. Drank during the Georgia vs. Florida Game. First Half, Plums and Cassis with spicey vanilla oak. Nice smooth mouth feel with with 30 second finish. Half time score UGA 21 UF 17. Second Half, more of the same this wine is so big nose and palate consistent. Final Score UGA 42 UF 30. What should I open to celebrate.

  • On the nose I found black plums, Coke, all spice, and vanilla. In the mouth my notes say "holy big wine." Sometimes I get a little punchy when jotting things down :) It was a big, dark, powerful wine. You could have put a light directly against the glass and not even seen a glimmer on the other side of the glass. This was one of the darkest wines I've ever seen. Besides that lovely description, I found more plums, spice, cherries, and raspberries in the mouth. The wine was a bit tannic in the mouth. I would say this one could easily sit around for another 10 years or so.
