  • Showing very well right now. Decanted & served, off a bit of sediment. Deep orange-brown-ruby with not much bricking. Very nice nose of dark berries, hard spices, and earth. Wonderful texture, as bottle age has added nuances to a good structure. Cooked blackberries. Texture holds up very well through the long finish that shows near-zero tannins. A very wonderful bottle, still holding very well.

  • Eathy, cherry and vanilla nose. Absolutely delicious cherry with spice and vanilla bursts onto the palate, with a long soft finish.

  • 14.2% alcohol. RRV.

any wine that throws black cherry at me, my favorite flavor, is going to get my attention. this wine is built with bricks, and is going to keep for quite a while. with air, and sitting in the glass, everything continues to evolve. it's rich and expressive on the midpalate. black is beautiful for me with pinots, and i'm all over the black cherry + blackberry notes. ugh, i would really like to see what happens to this wine over a few more years, but it is my last bottle. i'm literally gulping this down with jane's delicious dinner of spicy spinach linguine with olive oil and garlic, plus lemony chicken milanese with arugala salad. wow, i'm a lucky guy.

  • Consumed with the Wagners at Cuvee Restaurant. Bright disc. Medium ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, showing quite intense red and black cherry aromas, with concurrent smoke and vanilla. Medium-bodied on the palate, with good acidity yet a velvety texture. Medium oak and medium, supple tannins. Similar flavors as for the nose. Long, smooth finish.

  • ($32) Medium red with moderate translucence. Cola, strawberry, sweet tomatoes on the nose with a hint of Pinot funk. Ripe on the palate with good concentration, but a bit one dimensional. Not showing well.
