Cherry cola, citrus, oak, and brown spice. Palate showed noticeable oak influence, tea and ripe cherry fruit. While the wine showed some Burgundian trait, it also expressed that Cali ripeness. I imagine it will benefit from aging.

Wow! What a great pinot with a ton of life left. It is not going to get better so drink up! PnP. Was starting to fade a little as we finished about 45 minutes later.

Took for a belated birthday dinner at Cucina Allora. Holding up very well and was excellent accompaniment to a diverse meal of mushroom soup (me), mushroom ravioli (her -- ok, the apps weren't so diverse), pork medallions with porcini cream sauce (me) and swordfish a la putanesca (her). No detailed note but very smooth and rich (no fruit bomb here) with no rough edges, a full midpalate, and a nice lingering finish with only a hint of heat from the 14+% alcohol.
Holding up nicely but won't get better so drink up.

This is what every pinot made in the french style hopes to grow up to be: smooth, light with an excellent bouquet.
